Terminal Resettlement Grant

I'm due to leave the RAF on 2nd Dec this year after 12 years service. I know I will be getting the terminal resettlement grant. I don't know how long after my exit it will be paid to me. Any one got any ideas? I rang HR at my old unit, I was told to ring SPVA, they were about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

Mine came really quick, wasn't expecting it to do so, went to a cash point to get some money and nearly fell over when I saw the balance.

I left the Force after 22 yrs service. Although I received a different grant it was paid within 10 days of leaving. My last oficial day was 18 Feb, money was in the account around a week later, it was certainly in before my final salary payment. As you are not leaving until Dec this year would SPVA have all your details yet? When I rang them about 2 months before I left they were quite helpful and stated I should receive payment within 1 month. Again, as I said I left with different terms, IP etc. But, good luck.

PS, Make sure you use your resettlement benefits to the max.
