Hi,

Can anyone tell me about rotorway helicopters?
are they any good? im just about to start my lessons and going all the way from 0 hours up to CPL(H)
I am yet to find a school in the UK that opperate any, but would it be worth getting a trainer up to 15 hours on one and then only having the cost of the instructor and machine running?

Any help would be great,

thanks

The rotorway is a homebuilt helicopter and very good for its market, but not for training. Thus, you won't find any schools operating them as they are restricted to the owner flying only.

Out of preference for training, find a school that uses the Bell 47, Schweizer 300 or Robinson R22 in that order of preference. Don't listen to people who say "if you can fly a Robinson, you can fly anything!" If you can fly a Hiller 12E you can fly anything! :) If I'm not mistaken, Healds Aviation has one of those.

Good luck
