Hi All,

I am keen to get through the ATPL exams as quickly as possible and would prefer to do this via the distance learning route. Unfortunately I haven't been able to find all the answers I was after so was hoping you guys could fill me in.

1. Approximately (and this one of those how longs a piece of sting questions) how many hours from start to finish does it take?

2. How often are the exams?

3. Can you take them in any order / Do you have to do a certain amount in one sitting ?

4. Can you just buy the books and study as opposed to getting an official distance learning course?

5. Where and how do you book the exams?

- Some fairly basic questions I know, but my googling skills have let me down!!

Thanks in advance :ok:

1. The course, including home study and classroom, is suposed to be a minimum of 650 hours; 15 hours a week for about a year should do it.

2. Monthly at a few exams centres around the country; your nearest would be Gatwick.

3. Yes, but you only have 6 sittings and four attempts at each subject.

4. No, not in your case.

5. Download a form from the CAA and pay the fees. Your course provider will need to countersign.

6. Download LASORS for free.

Cheers
