I had a trip down to Lakenheath to visit my friend Dusty Molohon who is in the USAF there.

These were taken from outside.

Enjoy.

Just a guess, but I'd say a Sony Alpha 350, with 75mm lens. Something like f13, 1/200 exposure :8

And not just any old grey - Air Superiority Grey (no kidding, that's the official name of the paint!)

Anybody know the history of the aircraft in pic 1 and the 2 stars under the crew chief or pilots name? Are they kill credits? and why green?

shouldda see the one thats on take off, Lifted off runway wheels up still low at end of runway with reheats still lit & going at warp ten stuck it on it's tail straight up & mustave rolled out at higher than 20000 feet then his mate did the same 10 seconds later.

Thanks for the comments, it was a 3 hour car trip each way but worth it............

The green kills denote Iraqi aircraft downed in 1991. In the case of F-15C, serial 84-019, it was two Su-25 Frogfoot.

Port side will be pilot. Starboard side will be Crew Chief / maintainers names.
