Hi mate,

My first post here but I've been registered for a while.

I started as a baggage handler (or ramp assistant) a couple of months ago at good old LTN.

My hourly rate of pay is £6.70 regardless of whatever shift I do, been told that I may get an increase after 6 months but I dont think it'll go up more than £1 per hour ?

Only do about 20 hours per week so it's not great money but having said that I actually enjoy the job :ok: Having been unemployed for 6 months and found it impossible to find work I'm just grateful to have some money coming in :)

12 pounds per hour? your having a laugh mate. the only people who earn a decent wage in this game are ATC, flight deck and engineers the rest are paid a pittance, unless your required by law to be licenced your on minimum wages im afraid, its a sad fact that despite all the hype thats made about the amount of jobs airports create the reality is most of those jobs are very low paid, example the previous poster 6.70 quid per hr and no shift pay, thats scandalous

£12!!!! Twelve whole pounds!!

Are you mad??

I'd love to get anywhere near that. I'm on £8-something per hour ... £8.12 rings a bell.

Mind you, seeing others say that they're on £6.70 then maybe I shouldn't complain.

If I remember right my lot pay about £6.76+shift allowance as a load controller IIRC - think it works out around £1170/mth after tax, but I don't normally look unless it's less than I should be due :}

Still getting about 32 - 40 hrs a month , normally gives me £1800 - £2000 take home, don't really like to rely on the o/t Grizzler , and i'm lucky that the missus earns more than me without any o/t !!!
