AFTER THE INAUGURAL FLIGHT: ARIK NIGER-MANAGES A CRISIS

Written by Garba Yahaya (Roue de l'Histoire n ° 455 of 06 May 2009)

A few weeks ago, the Nigerian finally welcomed the launch of an airline called Arik Niger who was serving some major cities of our country, including Niamey, Zinder, Maradi and Agadez and some major cities of Nigeria, one of major trading partners of Niger. The company, whose first flight was inaugurated by the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation was also later serve major commercial centers such as Dubai, Abidjan, Dakar and even some European cities, among others. But as the launch that carried the day after a dispute arises between the founders of this new company.

Announced since 2007 by the trader Moussa Dan Fulani, the project will be realized this year as a result of a long process that led to obtaining the approval of the company, setting up infrastructure matter and all the formalities of establishing the new company. All its preliminary but decisive steps were taken by the wealthy merchant Moussa Dan Fulani. The misunderstanding between Elhadji Moussa Abdoulaye said Dan Fulani, artisan and founder Arik and Niger and its partners in Nigeria lies in what the Councils of the economic operator described in a letter addressed to measure Ministry of Transport and civil aviation''disloyal act of extreme gravity to Elh Abdoulaye Moussa and other national partners.''

In fact, after months of work in the establishment of the company that Moussa Dan Fulani, moving to London that Mr Anek, vice president of Arik-Nigeria had come to Niamey to meet the formalities the creation in the form of single-stock company with Arik Arik-Niger-Nigeria as the sole shareholder. Protests by Moussa Dan Foulani take charge of the Arik-Nigeria to provide explanations that the company was established in this form subject to its opening by the national carrier to Elhadji Moussa Abdoulaye load to identify partners of his choice. Thereafter realizing the''deception''he will seek the opening of the capital, a requirement to be reserved for a purpose not being accepted.

Thus, Moussa Dan Fulani, realizing that he is the victim of a scam''big''will require its partners, respect for his status as founder and especially investments he made in place of this company. With its capacity as founder and provisions of the Uniform Act of OHADA (Organization for the Harmonization of Business Law in Africa), the operator has initiated a process to return to his rights. It calls for arbitration by the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation by recounting the genesis of the company and the behavior of these partners are to believe his relatives have not respected the spirit of agreement and the commitments made by the founder Elhadj Moussa Dan Fulani of Niger to provide the airline with a strong credible participation of domestic investors.

It also seems especially that litigation is on hand that will be the founder Arik Niger believed that given the efforts that 51% of the shares of the company had to come back. One hand it deserves if we stick to the arguments developed by one of his colleagues who led from start to finish, on behalf of Musa Dan Fulani, the operations which led to the development of society and have required considerable investment. But paradoxically, those responsible for Arik-Nigeria hide the fact they have sold 30% share to the State. For the time being while the agents recruited by the company are undergoing training in Nigeria, the various partners and tear the project is likely to sink into the water.

There will still such a project that has generated much hope can relieve users of air transport especially in Niger with the recurring problem of transport of pilgrims and transactions between Niger and countries of the subregion that is with multiple detours. In any case, the authorities of the Ministry of Transport which arbitration is required in this litigation, must be activated to find a solution to this problem based mostly recent setbacks Air Senegal whose survival is uncertain after the unilateral withdrawal of Morocco which held the bulk of the company. Beyond the personal, the new Nigerian company law does not deserve to be a stillborn baby in terms of hopes for air transport users who already received relief in their transactions.

With the promising prospects that lie ahead in business for the operation of the next oil, increasing our deposits of uranium, announced railway infrastructure and many others, the authorities of our countries need s 'mean for a speedy resolution of this issue.

well that doesn't surprise me at all. I know Niger very well. Dan foulani is an illiterate ''businessman'' who made his fortune thanks to his friends at the government. He is Niger's president best friend. I never understood how he could be the founder of an airline, he doesn't even know how to write. He just knows how to count cash money earned with no efforts.
Let's not talk about the Minister of Transports in Niger. I've met him a few times. He doesn't know anything about aviation. He was just put there. :yuk:

That is correct - the equipment detail is slightly sketchy though.
