My C130 A2A Refuelling Pictures

Hi all. I am an ex RAF Mechanical Transport Driver (1979-92) and Gulf War 1 Veteran from 1990/91. Around 1985 i was detached to Ascension Islands for 6 months which was a staging point for The Falkland Islands. As i have a passion for aircraft i managed to get onboard what we termed as an Airbridge.

This consisted of 3 C130's. A short tanker, a long tanker and the Airbridge itself (Cargo). I was in the long tanker and by permission i took some pictures using my old Olympus OM-10 with a 200mm Zoom lens. Some of the pictures where taken whilst hanging out the rear sliding Fuel hose housing as can be seen.

I thought some of you guys might like to take a look. On some pictures the Air Load Master was actually holding my feet so i didn't fall out. Anyway enjoy.

Cool pics, welcome to the forums and well shot images too, I know how badly they can transfer to digital having tried with mine, I bet you wish Digital was invented then...

Ah the memories come flooding back, 13 hrs and a prod to PSA. Another Herc was so nice to tank from compared with the bloomin Victor. Is that Boozy Taylor in the right seat?
