HI
Gentlemen ,
Am trying to get an answer for this question what are the differences between valid / current / valid and current , referring here to :
JAR–FCL 1.250 : Have a valid multi-engine instrument rating (A)
Which is part of the requirements in the :
LASORS F9.1 TRANSFER OF TYPE/CLASS RATINGS FROM A NON-JAA STATE LICENCE Type Ratings (Aeroplane) iv. Have met the requirements of JAR-FCL 1.250/2.250, 1.251 and 2.255 as applicable
And
referring to LASORS F4.1 multi –pilot aeroplane type rating
Pre-requisite conditions for training:
Item (b) Hold a current and valid multi-engine instrument rating (aeroplane) this requirement for initial MPA type rating.........

Thanks

q8,

If you renew your 777 rating with a JAR TRE it will be Valid and Current. Valid because it's a valid type for multi engine and current because it last 12 months before it needs renewing.

If a " Valid" type has expired / not been renewed within 5 years then the rating has lapsed and you have to do a course.

The fact yoiur MEP expired 10 yrs ago will not stop them issuing a UK licence as you will have a Valid Multi IR i.e. 777, having just renewed it!

See form SRG 1102.
