Hello,

our company may be getting ex I-DAWA and I-DAWE Alitalia planes. This is my first time on EFIS integrated FMS cockpits. I heard there were 2 different types of MDc installed FMC's. One used IRU input, the other VOR-VOR. Is this true and if so which ones did Alitalia (or better yet these two planes) use?

Thanks

Alitalia FMS use GNSSU (Global Navigation System Sensor Unit) and VOR / DME to update its position.

I can confrim WA and WE are not equipped with IRU but AHRU.

In Alitalia:
MTOW:63.500 kg. / MLW 58.050kg.

I don't know if MTOW was reduced by AZ. But I think so

Nothing some paperwork and a golden bolt can't fix :8
We currently fly one of the HLW MD-83's. MTOW 72575 and MLW 68050.
Flew into SXM a few months back with a LW of 68t and a wet runway...quite and adventure.
