I am presently instructing on a restricted BCPL which is one of the early ones issued under grandfathers rights. As I am 65 I have to take a stress ecg in order to continue with a JAR class 1. If I do not take this the CAA will issue me with a JAR class 2. Does anyone out there know if I can continue to instruct on a BCPL with a class 2 JAR. Also if I revert to my old CAA PPL can I still instruct.

You can instruct with a class 2 as long as you don't get paid for it. I'm not sure if you can be paid for ground instruction.

Once EASA-FCL is adopted you will be able to be paid for instructing on your PPL. So long as the ground instruction is not directly associated with the flight instruction i.e. a pre-flight brief you can be paid for ground instruction.

If you do go and have a stress ecg remember that practice results in a significant improvement in performance.
