MEIR renewal

hi! I just got my first MEIR. Is that correct, that after 12 Mounth for first renewal, it is enough to do simcheck for MEIR rating, and no need to fly aicraft at all during 12 prev. Mounth?

You can renew in the sim on alternate years yes.

I assume you're talking JAA here. You can only renew alternate years if your IR is still valid, ie. if it expires today, you'll have to do it in a twin tomorrow. If it expires next week then you can do it in the sim tomorrow !

Bear in mind though that only the IR portion can be revalidated in the Sim, the MEP portion has to be conducted in a real aircraft each year, so two test fees! can sometimes be cost effective to do both in the aircraft and therefore 1 test fee.
