Last night a Cirrus from DCA crashed and the CFI and student killed, looks like they pulled the 'chute..........very sad.

DELTONA, Fla. -- An instructor and student pilot died in a plane crash in a heavily wooded, swampy area of southern Volusia County.
A small plane crash is found in a heavily wooded area of Volusia County.
A helicopter searching for the crash site discovered the wreckage partially submerged in a swamp early Wednesday morning between Colony and Old Train roads. Authorities said the helicopter detected heat signatures from inside the aircraft and a faint signal from an emergency transponder.
Deputies could only reach the crash scene by foot.
"We have walked all the way up to the plane. It was a good 200 yard walk through some very treacherous area. That's why we've asked the Division of Forestry to come in and cut us a path in there to make it a little easier for the investigators," Volusia County Sheriff's Office spokesman Brodie Hughes said.

The Civil Air Patrol said the site of the crash was about 2 miles southwest of Leffler Landing Field in the vicinity of 4700 Colony Road, which runs off state Road 415 near Lake Ashby.
The plane was a Cirrus S-R 20, which is manufactured by Cirrus Design. The aircraft had taken off earlier in the day from Orlando-Sanford International Airport and was part of the Delta Connection Academy.
Investigators said the plane was on a Visual Flight Rules training mission, and the Civil Air Patrol reported it had been cleared through Orlando airspace when it spiraled off the radar.
