Short Haul, with day stops, as they get the majority of the football flights. Minimal nightstops. They operate 737-800. Currently have 1 aircraft SE-RHR, and will soon have the second.

Tots - Viking are Viking, founded 2003 operating 4 x MD83 at their peak and are now re-equipping with Boeing's.

I used to work for XL, there are so many rumours going about it's untrue, but from what I can gather, Viking have been going since 2003, they have their own management, not XL's, they have seen a big gap that XL have left and decided to get in there, why not??
I can't answer for Kiss and whos working for them, but they're not the airline, just a company selling the seats, like freedom flights were or Libra.

Viking are Viking

That may be, but a lot of X-XL management are involved are they not?? Let's hope they don't sink.

All the best

All 21 crew are previous XL Crew along with the flight crew, but as was said, airline previously operated in Sweden with MD83 equipment. With the demise of XL there was a gap in the market which the Swedes have taken advantage of. Having XL Flight and Cabin Crew immediately available to operate the aircraft type help the transistion of the base opening.

The pay is actually pretty good, better than XL's was and better than some other airlines I've had interviews with.
I will be starting in Manchester, 20 of us not all XL crew but mostly.
Good luck to anyone going today xx

...and strangely enough SE-RHR was G-XLAE/C-FTAE, and the next one is rumoured to be the former G-XLAJ, operating the same former XL routes at the same times on the same days, what a coincidence. Surely no connection there?

And now a word from our sponsor :{:{:{

I can't answer for Kiss and whos working for them, but they're not the airline, just a company selling the seats

So, all they are responsible for is providing the income for these flights (which I guess will cover the salaries of the employees of Viking). I think you'll find that this company that are "just selling seats" might be a lynchpin to the whole operation then.

I'm sure there are some very sound people at Viking, but there are also some rats beneath the floorboards who have nibbled many people not too long ago. Good luck.

Cool Wavy - sadly your rumour is incorrect...!

Cool Wavy, surely the fact that ex XL frames are sat lying round would be the reason for them being used?

Whilst I am very happy that many of my former friends and collegues from XL are back flying again with Viking I have very mixed emotions about this airline.
I just see this airline as a re brand of the former airline which went to the wall owing all its loyal and dedicated staff large amounts of money.

If Phil Wyatt and co have ANYTHING to do with this airline (which I am almost certain they are) then I hope it fails misrably BUT then going off his previous form it will fail anyway leaving people stranded and staff unpaid, whilst he and his merry bunch of mates count their cash whilst trying to think up another name for an airline.

I bet your not crying anymore Eh Phil:{
