Hi there,

I wondered if anybody knows of good, reliable cheap parking for Heathorw. I need to park my car for 15 days in April, flying from Terminal 3.

Ironically my bros lives in Brentford right by the M4. He will also be travelling with us along with my parents. It seems to make sense to me to leave the cars on the street and get a taxi. I multimapped it and it's only 8 miles. However, as is the want, my father set in his ways is dead against it and is booking his car in to long term parking for £80 !!??

I'm not sure how much a taxi costs but it can't be that much surely ? So, does anyone know of some cheap long term parking ???

Cheers,
CG.

Book it on the internet. Even BAA parking is considerably cheaper if you book through their website.

I lived very close to an airport that had chronic parking problems because of airport employees and passengers who just left their cars where ever they wanted.

I have seen people leave cars to save £125 and then come back and be upset because wing mirrors got thrashed, door kicked in, paint scratched, bumpers crushed, wipers broken and tyres slashed......not all on a single car but variations.

On one occasion someone left a not saying "This car is not abandoned we have gone on holidays until the 15th"........they missed their CD player when they returned and cops read them the riot act when they got upset when they returned.

Council eventually put yellow lines which people didn't believe until in 1 month they council had issued 250 tickets, parking ceased being a problem.

Unless parking in your Bros garden / drive then suggest that use the car parks around the airport or get the train. Your bros could find a good neighbour becomes a bad one because some has pinched their space for 2 weeks.

I understand the saving money bit.

Alternate option is hire one big car / people carrier for 1 day and drop off at LHR and do same on way back as may find more cost effective and comfortable.....cost may be not that much different.

I always use the long term car park for Terminals 1, 2 & 3. Its called Parking Express.

Its onsite and the buses are every few minutes. Plus you park yourself and do not leave it in the "capable" hands of others like some of the car parks.

It is the same car park where flight crew have to park.

You can book it on the BAA website and quite often they have advance deals that are non reundable but offer even better value. I just booked 6 days in March for £55.

Cheers

has your brother got a friend who could drive you all and drop you off at the terminal or hatton cross tube? easiest and quickest way from west london. bear in mind a 15 min bus ride from long term park to CTA.
