We use to use the one on the flyer website. It worked quite well and was easy to access.

There are six members in our group, and we use a Yahoo group calendar. Pretty simple, but works very well for us.

I'm in two 8-person syndicates who bth use Yahoo (also for syndicate Emails, uploaded aircraft documents, etc.); it works very well and costs us nothing.

www.aircraftbooking.co.uk

Not free (about£49 p.a. I think, but has lots of add-ons, text alerts etc)

Also rapid personal service from owner if any probs.-we've used it since it started IIRC about 9-10 years with rarely any probs.

But if you really don't want to spend anything there are loads of freebees about.

I installed "Webcalendar" (free) and our group uses this. It works pretty well, emails bookings etc. Google Calendar would work well too...

I agree with the last post. I looked at most of them and goboko was the best by miles. I switched from my own application which was pretty good to goboko because it was great!

I know a good one, but it is not free, but cheap, and more importantly good quality. Have a look at Redirection Page (http://www.planebooking.flyer.co.uk/)

I have used Hosted by Coastline Computer Consultancy (http://www.planebooking.flyer.co.uk/) too as the training organisation I did some of my training at uses it. Works well.

Hi all,

Now Goboko is being replaced, anyone got updated ideas on a cheap and cheerful replacement?

(Hate the 15 quid a month if you are British, 15 Dollars a month if you are US on the Goboko replacement site. Come on chaps, it costs the same to have an electronic customer in either country!)

Rip-off Britain!

Terrible isn't it, people wanting to be paid for a service instead of giving it away for free. What a rip off, as you say.

(Doubtless they were being paid of course, by advertising, but a lot of advertising based businesses are struggling badly at the moment - a flying magazine I was writing for has just folded because of inadequate advertising revenue.)

I'd still recommend Yahoo - works very well for a syndicate I'm a member of. Just use the calendar, and set it to send out reminders automatically by email.

Genghis, I think XA was commenting on the charge being the same in US Dollars, as in GB Pounds - why the US$ 8 premium?

Fair point, dunno.

I just received notice of a ZAR1500 payment from South Africa via my bank. £123 in theory, but £95 by the time it got to me - the rest vanished into some bankers bonus somewhere.

I don't use it myself, but I see that Google+ also allows you to do shared calenders now. Plus of course shared docs via Google Docs.

If you already have a Gmail/Google+ account (and who doesn't these days?) it's probably the easiest to configure if you're looking for something new.

We use avshared.co.uk, nice and simple and does what it says on the tin.

We are using AeroPlus: Home (http://www.aeroplus.nl) :ok:

It's a great product and it has a free iPhone app to make bookings and register flights. It's also a booking and finance system in one package. Also a good place to store documents (POH) and many other options like giving your engineer a log in to live view your technical problems if they occur and someone left a note in the system. You can try it 30 days for free.

Costs €0.65 (£ 0.54) per completed flight if you keep using it.

It is a huge step up coming from aircraftclubs.com for us.

Hi

Just to let you know that with immediate effect our new booking system for for aircraft/groups/instructors is available. You will need to login and create an account as the administrator of your group and then add all the other pilots and planes and instructors. Its a painless process and it will will send all your pilots an email along the way to tell them they have been activated.

Like many of the people who will use this system I was dissapointed when the booking system we used, GoBoKo announced a charging structure that wasnt cheap so I have invested the first couple of years of what I would have spent to write our own booking system which does all what the previous one did. In addition I am providing the service free of charge to the aviation community so nobody else has to pay. The address of the new system is Aircraft Bookings (http://www.aircraftbookingsystem.com) and you can find out more about the system at Welcome to the Free Aircraft Booking Sytem - FABS (http://www.freeaircraftbookingsystem.com)

If there are any problem with the system please let me know as it is hot off the press so we may have missed something.

It is pretty self explanatory to use.

1. register the group and main admin pilot

2. Add a plane or planes

3. Add pilots

Thats it. You are ready to go.

You can add bookings by clicking on the start time and then the end time in the calendar or you can also add them by selecting the times under the calender and you can select the end day if it later than the start day of the booking.

You can also book instructors by ticking a box while ticking a plane. We will hopefully add later today so you can book instructors without the need to book a plane for groundschool etc.

We will try to include any suggestions people make although as it is free there is no promises. Just ask nicely and we will see what we can do.

Please give me your feedback. [email protected]

Remember the only payment is that you put a link on your website if you have one back to our siste to help it get found by the search engines and so other pilots can track us down. Please link to Welcome to the Free Aircraft Booking Sytem - FABS (http://www.freeaircraftbookingsystem.com) (the website) not aircraftbookingsystem (the actual booking system)

Thanks

Stuart

I'd like to recommend www.airchunk.com (http://www.airchunk.com), with over 30 groups and 400 users using the system already and excellent feedback from them all.

It's secure, free and super easy to use.

Oh and there's a UK telephone number to call if you need help and emails answered asap!

Thank you to all the users who've provided excellent ideas on new features like a sunrise and sunset time. More great ideas in development as we speak. :ok:

If you'd like a booking system that suits you, try www.airchunk.com (http://www.airchunk.com)

Enjoy,

Abe

Our group is now using airchunk. We're sorry to be leaving oscarromeo / goboko, but we clearly don't fit into their target market. Airchunk seems to tick the boxes for what we need right now.

From what I've seen so far, it's okay - some rough edges - but it does seem to be improving much in the same way as oscarromeo way back in time. Let's hope they go far enough to get really good, but not so far that they sell out!
