Oooo, I like that Cherokee! There used to be a Lake Amphib around here like that, and I thought that it was a real eye catcher!

ZEBY is my all time favourite aircraft. I love flying it. Pax and spotters always interested and it distracts them from the bad landing they are about to witness...........

After seeing that photo I will take a very good look at the port oleo next time I check her.

Do interiors count as well?

One of the aircraft at our club is a PA-28 with the 1960s or so interior: Red velvet and these tiny little curtains you can slide in front of the windows, not thick enough to keep the light out, but just enough to keep people from looking in. Looks like a cheap brothel on the inside, stains on the walls and all.

The INSIDE of any RyanAir aircraft. Why did they think navy and BRIGHT yellow would look well together?

BRL,
G-AVSI based at White Waltham used to, but appears from the pic I found of it on G-INFO to have been repainted since. Phew!

G-AVSI was a 140 & not even an arrow ! Hey they saw sense in the end thank goodness

IIRC the Waltham Arrow painted like a Red Arrow is G-JESS.

Unfortunately, G-INFO can't confirm or deny this.

Pictures of said aircraft anybody?

.....found it, thanks to airliners.net

englishal: Pray tell, any particular reason why an aircraft belonging to the British Airways Flying Club and painted in the (then) owner's colour scheme should cause humour..?

To change the thread round a bit, we like this one best, an anniversary scheme celebrating 60 years of the Airways Flying Club in 2008. Paint by Mick Allen at Turweston, scheme based on BEA and BOAC Comet 4:

You must have seen some shockers, got any good photos of how NOT to decorate a plane?

Well, climbing into an aircraft with a fine vintage colour scheme - painted by the splendid Mick Allen - but spoiling the whole effect by wearing a pink flying suit must rank fairly highly in the list of sins.

Wouldn't you say?

Hmmmmmmm?

Hmmmmmmmmmmm?

"Desert Beige", my @rse. That growbag is as pink as a pink thing.

What about the JP painted in Mr Blobby colours. I'm sure someone more tallented than I can find a pic.

The Orange Braniff 747 comes a close second.

I don't have pictures, but there's a couple that stand out round here... why would you paint a warrior turquoise??? and there's a virgin (airline!) colour scheme on another

TheGorrilla

eharding.... At least I don't fly around with a big shiney tomatoe on my head. When we land in the barren sandy wastes of Scotland being chased by machette wealding Al Quaeda I'll be undetectable hiding in the sand dunes and be able to sneak back to Tobermory alive for guinness, haggis and medals.... You clearly didn't think of that when you bought you boiler suit grey plumbers outfit. Ha! :p

TheGorrilla

Hmmm... Clearly Wide-Body and eharding are colour blind. My suit is khaki with a touch of oil stain. Just right for those beaches.

Please tell me that Aeronca is photoshopped??

Okay, to continue the pink paint theme.... Here is a British Airways Flying Club (http://www.bafc.co.uk/) Warrior promoting the Breast Cancer Awareness charity. It was given a temporary repaint for Pink Day at Wycombe Air Park.

Here it is seen en route from WAP in its modified 'World Flag' colour scheme to Mick Allen's paint shop from which it emerged in the 'Chatham Dockyard' scheme.

The worst paint that I ever had the misfortune to see was a Seneca that was painted brown & cream, the thing looked like a Great Western railway carrage.

The unfortunate bit was that I was checking the aircraft out for a perspective buyer and the sellers had got the aircraft painted to increase the chances of a sale. The paint was very good from a technical pooint of veiw but what an asithetic mistake!!
