Benefits of the Recession and flying?

With all the gloom about the economy has it curtailed your flying activities?
In the heady days car fuel was £1. 10 p a litre now its dropped to 87p per litre.

Interest rates are tiny for those who can borrow.

If you are renting then maybe you can get a better deal?

The big downer is exhange rates which must be stopping us buying aircraft in dollars or going to the USA for training /holidays.

I am interested to know whether as pilots we are pulling in the belts or whether some of the benefits are tempting for us to fly more.
Maybe there is no change?

What's strikes me as interesting is all those clubs who introduced the 'fuel surcharge' and still seem to be charging it........
