Just trying to get my head around this for my air law exam.

What is the difference between VMC minima and JAR PPL weather minima?

I know they are different under certain conditions for flights in Class F and G airspace but why do we have both?

Yours confused.

It's the ANO you want to be looking at, in addition to VMC minima.

This might help:
VMC LIMITS FOR PPLs (http://www.listfaq.flyer.co.uk/VMC_LIMITS_FOR_PPLs.htm)

The 3km minima stated in Schedule 8 is a UK imposed minima and does not come from the JAA!

Ah. Now that's interesting so the JAA state 1500m?
