I really wanted to apply to ANZ too but I heard that because of the current climate they are freezing recruitment for LHR but this info could be wrong!

They are recruiting again! - See HERE (http://http://www.airnewzealandconcierge.co.uk/default.htm)
Just one thing - it isn't a Cabin Crew role, although you work with the crew on board - It will probably better suit the more mature person with a bit of life experience

Tried to have a look but the link you have posted doesn't work. Looked on the website too but no sign of it. Have they finished accepting applications already ???
14th Jul 2009, 18:22
Maybe it'll work better now!
Apply to be an Air New Zealand Inflight Concierge (http://www.airnewzealandconcierge.co.uk/default.htm)
20th Jul 2009, 08:39
Are these Permanent Positions or Fixed Term?
26th Jul 2009, 13:38
Can anyone shed some light on this interview for LHR based IAC's for me?
Any "inside info" is greatly appreciated!
29th Jul 2009, 09:10
I received an e-mail stating that interviews would take place 28, 29, 30 of July. Nobody called me so I presume I’m unsuccessful this time. But would love to hear from someone who passed through the next stage.
29th Jul 2009, 21:59
I applied last year and made the final round of interviews. I did not see them recruiting again for this role.
30th Jul 2009, 17:40
I had my interview on 28th...I have to say they are very professional and would be nice to work for them...
Next week I should have a response.
31st Jul 2009, 07:36
Congrats on your interview:D. But could you be so nice and tell us more about it? How many people were there, how many recruiters interviewed etc.
Thanks in advance
31st Jul 2009, 09:48
There were 4 nice people interviewing.
40 minutes of general questions and 15 minutes of role play as inflight concierge.
I don´t know how many people they are interviewing, because you have individual interviews and individual role play.
31st Jul 2009, 11:27
It's very interesting way of recruiting. I'm curious what sort of scenario you had to perform as an individual during this interview. Hope you'll get to next part, keep my fingers crossed. And let us know about the result.
3rd Aug 2009, 09:49
had my interview also on 28th, they are only looking for 2 people so will be tough. general panel interview followed by a presentation where you sell a destination to an operating concierge.. very nice people
11th Oct 2009, 19:16

14th Oct 2009, 20:00
I also really want to apply to ANZ when they next recruit for cabin crew.
Does anyone have any info on when they might recruit again for LHR?
Cheers for any info guys :ok:
17th Oct 2009, 21:29
I applied and received a rejection letter within a week even though I have worked for BA. Sad.
18th Oct 2009, 08:42
Sorry to bother you guys but are ANZ actually recruiting for Cabin Crew?
I have checked the website and can't find anything about recruitment for LHR base crew? Am I being thick?!?!?!
Any info would be GREAT - Thank You :O

Flight Attendants - Cheap Flights, Airfares & Holidays - Air New Zealand Official Site - UK (http://www.airnewzealand.co.uk/aboutus/careers/flight_attendants.htm) should take you to the LHR recruitment. As far as I know, they are not recruiting at present, but they are holding people on file for 12 months just in case.
Scroll down and you will see the form to print out and send off. I can't get it to download, but I think that is just me!

I have just noticed that Air NZ are recruiting again for the A320, the ad mentions part time options. If anyone has any information on how this works I would really appreciate it, also base salary and allowances etc. I have read so much on here about Zeal, is this the fleet and if so what is it like at the moment?
I am a little bit more "mature" and need part time but also very keen to fly, I don't want to get my hopes up go through the whole process and if I am lucky enough to get in it turns out not to be right. The ad also mentions people returning to the work force so hopefully age isn't a barrier.
Thanks in advance, hopefully you can give me some guidance.
12th Feb 2010, 20:04
Yes it's for the Air NZ subsidiary "zeal" even though it's advertised by Air NZ.
Starting salary for full time is $28,067. Plus an annual allowance of $3874, paid fortnightly. There is an hourly tax-free allowance of $4.87 for every hour on duty.
Minimum 10 days off per 28 day roster, usually more. You can work up to 6 days in a row. Each shift is typically between 9.5 and 12 hours. The Akl base has quite a few all-night shifts.
For part time you work half the days but not necessarily the same number of days each month, it's as the company requires, also 2 full time rosters each year, when directed, obviously at peak times.
PM me for any details.
15th Feb 2010, 05:28
I too am interested in working for Air NZ and am 'mature' like you....well I have applied and today got an invitation to the walk in on Thirsday evening, hopefully you apllied and may see you there.
21st Feb 2010, 19:17
I thought the whole process run really well, very efficent and informative....also pretty quick. The short interview was fine although I was alittle stumped when they asked name a place Air NZ doesnt fly to and why they should go there ......that threw me but I think I answered ok. I havent heard anyhthing yet but keeping fingers crossed that will hear soon. What did you think of it and have you heard anything yet ?
21st Feb 2010, 22:25
That was a hard question! I thought they flew everywhere! Did they mean for Zeal? I thought it was really well done too - very professional. It was so short! I was a little shocked when it was all over.
I haven't heard back yet but hope I do soon so I can arrange time off work. The invite came on the Monday for the Thursday walk-in and that was a little tough getting time off from work then. So hopefully we'll hear today :)
Do you know if we pass through the assessement centre, would they have us do a swimming test?
22nd Feb 2010, 02:26
10 Days off a roster ? ? ?
Well thats not entierly accurate as at Zeal they agreed that a working day extends until about 1.00am.
So you can actually finish a duty well after midnight and then be required to work again that very same day. It was pointed out how absurd it was but apparently the majority thought it was no big deal.
Before that, any day you signed off after 2400/0000 was considered a working day, and you could not be rostered to operate again on that day.
22nd Feb 2010, 05:06
Of course the majority wanted the proper definition of a day, but concessions had to be made, otherwise we'd still be in negotiations.
We've always been able to work past midnight and start another duty the next day, nothing new there.
22nd Feb 2010, 05:52
My understanding is that if you are invited to attend the assesment then you will have to bring proof of the test with you... Im sure they will clarify that when they let us know if we have got through...
10th Mar 2010, 19:10
Has anyone had a second interview for the A320 Recruitment?
14th Mar 2010, 14:11
Wanting to work for Air NZ when I come back to NZ later this year what I wanted to know was can you be too tall it says the height range 160-185 cm I'm 188cm does anyone know how rigid they are on the height
16th Mar 2010, 18:48
I got a phone call the other day inviting me to attend the assesment centre on the 12th April .Has anyone else heard back ? Also could someone who has been through the process tell me what to expect , questions and exercises etc ?
Thanks for your help

13th May 2010, 23:44
did anyone go to the walk in interview on Tuesday? The whole atmosphere seemed really nice. Also does anyone know what the minimum eyesight requirement is. The website says "Your unaided vision must be sufficient for you to perform all Flight Attendant safety related duties in an emergency". how do they assess that?
3rd Jun 2010, 07:25
Didn't make it through domestic recruitment, but i applied for zeal320 tasman/pacific cabin crew, and got to the assessment centre - went on Tuesday 1st June, still waiting .....anyone else?
3rd Jun 2010, 11:45
What did they take you through at the assesmnet center? Do you know when they will be hiring Domestic, Zeal(Int Short Haul) or Int Long Haul in the future?\
15th Jun 2010, 00:44
Got the call today, didn't make it past assessment centre, but was encouraged to apply for next intake - may 2011.

Also got invited to the long haul walk-in see you there!
Coming from Australia...does anyone know if the assessment days are usually held shortly after the walk-in days? Would love to know, be quite annoyed if i flew back home and was invited to an assessment centre a few days later.
1st Jul 2010, 09:09
I am not coming from as far as Aussie just up from Wellington but called today to ask that question as I also didn't want to get back to WLG just to go back later in the week. They are looking at either later that week or next week for the next stage if you get through to the assessment. What time is your walk in? 5:15 here
8th Aug 2010, 07:29
I've put in an application for the Tasman-Pacific Part time listing. It's my first application to anywhere.
Hope I get invited to the initial interviews on Tuesday!
11th Sep 2010, 09:19
wow 28000 a year. I just love how zeal crew fly air nz planes, wear anz uniform but get paid peanuts compared to the cabin crew employed directly by anz. A part time baggage handler get paid more... fact
19th Sep 2010, 05:49
Does anyone know if Air NZ will be recruiting for international next year?
2nd Jan 2011, 01:38
Hi every body.. I dont know if any one still comes onto this site - but I just wanted to ask if any one has been called to the Flight Attendant Walk in interviews on the 12th of Jan 2011?
3rd Jan 2011, 08:22
i Got a email back inviting me to the Walk in Day in Auckland on the 12th :)
3rd Jan 2011, 22:41
hey Differentsilver - congratulations.
Have you had experience in cabin crew/flight attendant?
I see you're from Brisbane?
I am very very excited for the walk in day, how bout you? Nervous?
I was shocked to get an email to attend the Walk in.
I know someone else that is attending however they are really scared as they are Water confident, and can swim under water but cant breast stroke lol
I advised her to go down to the pools and LEARN asap! After all it is part of saftey.
get back if you can.
4th Jan 2011, 00:51
Ive been to a couple of different interviews so it sort of helps out a bit also done the cabin crew course in Brisbane and yes I am from Brisbane
I am still a bit nervous for the interview
It would be best for your friend to go down to the pool because the water training is a little bit hard.
The best bit of advice for the interview is just be your self and have a little bit of knowledge about the company and make sure you ask some questions because thats what they look for.
Hope that helps :)
4th Jan 2011, 06:09
:ugh: at the swimming part.Yeah shes nervous but still gonna come to the walk in any way. (Weird)
It would be a great experience for the walk in - I have no flight attendant experience - so not to sure what was on my CV that got me the Walk in LOL.
Hope to meet you in person make sure you have a safe flight when you come from Brisbane.
4th Jan 2011, 06:15
They must like something on your cv
I get to Auckland on the 11th. Will see you at the interview.
If you wanna catch up before the interview, I would be happy to give you some tips about the group interview.
also tell your friend that with the swimming, they don't care how you do it, as long as you can swim 50 metres
4th Jan 2011, 07:45
Thanks for that ill let her know.. hmm ill actually tell her to register on this forum.
What is the normal process for these walk ins and what happens after if youve been selected - by reading all the other different forums
you get called for an assessment?
4th Jan 2011, 07:57
The process for the walk in day is a Short interview and opportunity for you to learn more about life as a Flight Attendant. Through Out the day they will be watching everything thing you do, So make sure your grooming is perfect.
Then they will let you know within 7 days if you are successful for the assessment centre.
On the assessment day you get the group interview, they will also check documentation, Height check, Group activity, IQ test, and a personality test.
And as soon as you go to the walk in day they will be watching how you interact with other people.
Hope that helps :)
5th Jan 2011, 23:25
ive been invited to the 12th walk in day as well
i have to firstly sit my drivers license test
5th Jan 2011, 23:49
congratulations hireme. :)
have you ever been to a airline interview before?
I have my drivers licence, they walk in days and interviews are pretty easy the 2 main things they will be looking at from the moment you walk in is how you interact with people and your grooming
6th Jan 2011, 01:31
Read the first sticky thread at the top of the forum.
7th Jan 2011, 01:45
well well well look at you - thank you for all the helpful info D-silver. I may not attend if I dont get my license in time.
So useless :ugh: but i feel i should just come in just so i can experience the interview.
7th Jan 2011, 02:55
you should still go its good experience, and from some of the interviews ive been to they like it if you have a licence but they will still hire you if you dont have a licence
8th Jan 2011, 04:20

12th Jan 2011, 21:22

Welldone and good luck for the assessment next week..
2nd Feb 2011, 06:53
Anyone else going to the Walk-In Day in Auckland on Thurs 10th Feb?
7th Feb 2011, 00:01
I applied for Air New Zealand on Jan 10th and heard there was an assessment day a few days after I applied. Now there is another one but I still haven't been contacted. How long is the wait for assessment day usually? One month, two? Three?
5th Apr 2011, 05:24
I too went for a walk in interview and an assessment. I completed my vetting process and even completed my swim test and First aid course. I have now been told things are on hold because of the current market situations. So I am not really sure what Air NZ are up to. Getting very mixed signals from people. I know that there was a training course early March and another one starting this week. Anyone else heard anything else?
6th Jan 2012, 23:16
Hii ecureuilas355 I have been invited for walk-in interview. what questions do they ask on a one on one interview.?? plzzz help:hmm:
