A month old now, but I don't think that this report (http://www.thisiswiltshire.co.uk/news/headlines/3982101.Wiltshire_air_ambulance_saved_from_the_axe/) has been covered on this forum. Some good news for Wiltshire at last, shame the renewal is only for five years.

Yes, but it was the Police who pushed for 5 years. The Ambulance Service only wanted 1 or 2 years.

That is great news, why should Wiltshire have lost it's Air Ambulance so as Avon (as it was) could have one, coupled with the fact that Wilts is dual role means it can do the night jobs which the machine at Filton can't!

Excellent News indeed. The setup at Devizes provides a really good service for the people of Wiltshire, who have paid for it both through their taxes and charitable donations. The people of Wiltshire want it to continue, so this is the right result.

I suspect that the duration may be linked to the commercial arrangements for the provision of the helicopter and pilots.
