G'day, just wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction of any charter companies that take Aus licence holders, with 2000 hrs, 700 mutli cmd. Heard of safari companies doing tranfere flights, fancy a bit of that for a while if poss.

I think that there are many pilots which would like to do this in reverse but find for some peculiare reason that Australians do not want foreign pilots flying in their country.

Every country that I've worked in Africa will either validate or convert a current Aussie License but you will have to do an airlaw and a flight test. The problem that comes up is work permits. You usually have to commit 2 yrs or more if you are given a type rating.
Do a search on Prune for info on flying in Botswana, Tanzania,Namibia, Uganda. Last time I was in Kenya it was almost impossible to get a work permit unless you paid a healthy sum of money.

I recently met a whole bunch of ex SAAF guys doing instruction on Tomahawks and grobs. Thats not a great career progression.

There certainly is opportunity. To my knowledge the Botswana ( Maun) bush pilots have a few Ozzies amongst them. In SA I beleive you will need right of abode and the licence ( unless on a specialised contract where a validation will be given for the duration of the contract.) Who knows though for sure , check with their CAA. Also try some of the relief agency operators. I recall some Kiwi,s , Cannuks and Brits flying South African registered machines ( out of SA on contract in Africa). So it is possible , not sure who to contact though.
