Helicopter does NOT look like a write off to me..see Here (http://www1.whdh.com/news/articles/local/BO99326/).

Rumor on another helicopter site is that the pilot had a heart attack.

True, it looks a lot more healthy in that picture.

Nothing in those videos makes any sense at all... sending someone to "open the hood to disconnect the battery to shut it down" with a collapsed gear sounds insane- tell me it isn't true...

Sounds plausible to remove the electrical connections, one way of reducing the fire risk....

As for the Bird "i just kept stroking his cheek", her whining at me would be enough to force myself out the cockpit, get 400 metres away and spark up a cigar....Just like Battle of Britain with dear ole Mr Caine

Jury rejects lawsuit against Bell, RR Allison & GPECS (http://www.concordmonitor.com/home/8783503-95/pilot-in-bow-helicopter-crash-loses-suit-against-manufacturers)

Alleged ice ingestion (and bodged auto), despite "company personnel [having] spent about 5 hours cleaning and deicing" the aircraft according to the NTSB report (http://dms.ntsb.gov/aviation/AccidentReports/rq43x2552lehue55kushsk551/B10042013120000.pdf) issued earlier this year.
