Hi all,

Two questions, what is the best software (free for preference!) for ripping DVD's to your hard drive, and is it legal to do this if it is purely for personal use. All help gratefully recieved

If you ripped your DVDs to .ISO files, just google for "Daemon tools".
They install a virtual optical drive you can use to play your ripped DVDs like a disc in a normal DVD drive.

I use Slysoft AnyDVD, DVDClone, CDClone, DVDCloneMobile.
It paid for a licence, but get in quick as from 01 Jan 2009, they'll revert to an annual subscription.

It's never failed me so far.

unclenelli is right - if you you are willing to spend some money those tools are really good. I bought them and they never let me down.:ok:

However, as far as I know they will not play any files you ripped to your hard drive.
