Well, somehow I managed to get my computer infected by Otorun1 Trojan. AVG Free claimed that it removed it but after shutdown and restarting the computer I cannot execute any program file. This is the error I get

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

Of course I am logged in with my admin account and even through this I cannot even access User Account. I did a quick search on the internet and tried to manually remove the autorun.inf file, but it was no where to be found.

Could anyone please let me know how I can fix this problem?

PS: Even the IE wont work, so I clicked on My Computer and in the address box I type the url for PPRuNe for the internet to work........ grrrrr

USB Flash drives seem to be the favorite way of this Trojan spreading (brand-new ones, straight out of the packet).

Try this page for a manual removal:

Here's a story of success with this, from Geeks to go. (http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/Laptop-infected-mal-otorun1-t213014.html&pid=1341988)
Seems MBAM does a pretty good job, in association with Flash Disinfector (see post 2 for download.)
