B787 First flight put back to 2nd Quarter 2009, first delivery now 1st quarter 2010. :ok: :}

B747-8: Boeing today announced at least 6 to 9 month delay for 8F & at least 3 to 6 months for the 8I. The delays indicate possible problems in the program as the time scales are way beyond the 60 day strike by the IAM.

Where are all those people who lambasted Airbus for the 380 delays.....?

Locked door, I was wondering the same... The Boeing fanboys have been rather quiet in recent months.

There is a broader aspect to this situation that should concern all of us.

Boeing is in deep trouble with the 787 program, the 747-8 is late and they can not even get the Italian KC-767 out the door. I certainly am not privy to the details of military contracts, but the Pentagon appears to be very unhappy with Boeing’s performance.

Airbus made some bad management errors with the A380. The A400M is a mess.

NASA is taking longer to field warmed over Apollo technology than it took to send Apollo to the moon in the first place.

There is something deeply, gravely wrong with aerospace management in the western world.
