Operations start with new runways today at three major airports in Chicago O'Hare, Seattle Tacoma and Washington-Dulles. Prompted by increasing flight delays, todays openings bring to 14 the number of major new runways built since 2001.

At least they will be ready and waiting for the upturn in traffic in two years time.

And here we are in the good old UK, debating over whether LHR needs a third runway or not! It is beyond comrehension to me. :confused:
