Hey guys, i dont know if this is the right spot to ask this (mods please redirect me if not).
Im interested in buying the gpsmap 296, but after talking with a technical sales rep. i was informed that there is only one basemap compatible per unit.
In other words, if i wanna use it here in U.S. i have to get the north/south basemap unit which wont work in Europe (as i was told).
My question is, are the garmin reps telling me the truth or is it possible to interface it with the atlantic basemap (format and/or upload) when i go back to europe?
