Does anyone know if a TU154 has the ability/exemption to operate live flights with an engine inop? I have seen several pictures of an Aeroflot 154 in Warsaw on Oct 22 that has the #1 engine blocked off and reports that it was operated with pax. In my experience on MD11 and 744 there is nothing that would allow this to be anything but a ferry flight:confused:

Was it taxiing at the time? It is common practgice I believe to shut 1 down on the 154

If I know approved as ferry only with one eng. inop. For info usually No. 2 eng shut down after touchdown....(no reverser). Perhaps extra crew..:)

Regarding that Oct.22 Aeroflot flight pictured in Warsaw, I heard it was only a ferry flight with no passengers. It was positioning from Dusseldorf to Moscow, but had to make 2 stops. So it flew on routing: Dusseldorf-Warsaw-Minsk-Moscow. It seems TU-154 range is greatly reduced when flying on 2 engines.

The last one post is correct - my friend was a co-pilot on that ferry flight.

One Engine INOP on a Tu154 has to be a non commercial ferry.
