This is my first post so I hope you go easy on me.

Have been accepted into Air Macau on the A320, and need to arrange a type rating. Does anyone know of a reputable place in SE Asia that offers an A320 type rating for less than about AU$25,000?

Thanks in advance.

Hi guys,

you guys can look you alteon boeing for such programmes... they should be able to answer the questions i guess...

neverless there are a few airlines in asia whom will give give employment together to the A320 type rating (self sponsored deduction through training bond of like 5 years).

pm me if you wish to know more.

great way to fly

I think Air Asia (Manilla?), have 5, yes 5 A320 sims, don't know what they would charge though, and you might just scrape in with that price with Air New Zealand.

I suspect you mean the centre in KL. The only Philippines based FFS is at Clark

I confirm Air Asia Academy close to LCCT in KLIA. It is the A320 TRTO subcontracted by CAE.

Oops I deleted my post from earlier.........

Hi,

i have been thinking about doing the same.
I have found 3 sim centers in the USA that can do it for about US$12,500.
That was dirt cheap a few months ago but now the USD Vs the AUD its getting up there.

I have been looking at mainland china, are Air Macau still putting people on? Do they take DEC's without time on type?

Thanks

Read your previous post regarding few carriers that will 'sponsor' the a320 rating and bond you for 5 years or so. Would love to know more. :) Im a Singaporean, CPL/IR from Oz. 1 yr down e road, still no flying job..so am currently in desperate mode. Few options out there available for me, am leaning towards instructing, but hey, if a jet job comes along, why not right?

Cheers and happy landings

Be very careful with Air Macau. I had a job offer over two years ago, still haven't got a start date.

never try SQ?

SQ does not train self funded pilots....also stay away from Alteon..their 320 course is not approved...
best bet is Air Aisa or.Oxford in Hong Kong .

Left Wing. I know a Singapore based Tiger pilot who obtained an A320 rating from Alteon. Accepted by Tiger with no time on A320 aircraft.

That is Tiger's course not Alteon...Tiger has to first hire you to train you at Alteon.

I take it that dont_fly_angry has a CASA licence, but Oxford is only approved by "JAA, Chinese CAAC and Hong Kong CAD and Nordic regulatory authorities" (quoting from its website).

How would you get it endorsed on your CASA licence ? Am I missing something here ?

There is an independent simulator operator AATC in Bangkok, and an EASA approved center with an EASA ATO FCE, attached to it. They are doing type ratings soon, and EASA compliant type rating too. [email protected]
