Srilankan Airlines A330-200 4R-ALC skids off the runway in Chennai India on the 13th October 2008. (Morning flight UL 121)

Damaging 3 tyres and a couple of runway lights. Airplane AOG for approximately 11 hours..

Heavy rain and low visibility reported at the time.

Training flight for a first officer, and the instructor the newly appointed Manager Flight Operations Capt DP.(Hot shot pilot).

Investigations are being carried out by the CAASL and the Indian DGCA.

Sure the poor training F/O will have to take the rap, while Capt DP will wangle his way out. The usual with UL

Capt DP's instructor rating is suspended and put as aline Capt.

This is a tempo action. Just for a few days. Until the people forget or till another game of cricket is played. Then he will be given his instructor rating. After which he will start drilling again.

You got to bear in mind, DP is a key UL mafia member. Controlled by M Rat. M Rat has the remote in hand.

Poor DP does not have his two good buddies to shove this under the carpet. :yuk: Peter Hill and Dick Button, where are you.

Now we have two Captains running behind the politicians. Actually when DP went for help, M Rat was allready there. M Rat is a regular visitor with the high politico ones. His CRM great with the politicians.
