Keeping the same FTO for Modular training ?

Hi all,
Is there any truth in the fact that most prospective employers prefer that all your modular training is completed with one FTO, or is that just FTO marketing bulls***.

I'd be interested to hear about this too, as im about to decide on where to go for CPL and IR.

Was thinking about SFC but now thinking about CPL somewhere in UK and Possibly IR at Aerodynamics Spain as i would save a few quid.

Would i still be in a position to get a Job say with FYR in the future (yes i know i have no chance at the mo, so please NO stupid reply's and comments) just sensible advise please.... Thank you :ok:

I can quote the fact that (was in a flyer mag) FlyBE says that it will accept either modular or integrated candidates BUT if coming through the modular route they would like to see training at NO MORE than 2 different FTO. I think they was mentioning this after the 14 writtens for the fATPL. So I think i would be right in saying
PPL place A
Hour Building place B
14 written exams place C
THEN YOUR
Commerical
ME
IR
MCC
at no more than 2 providers.

BUT... In my personal opinion I would say after the PPL and writtens you try and stick to the same FTO.

I know that FLYBE prefers candidates that have completing all modular training the same FTO. However I completed the CPL and IR in different FTOs and it hasnt caused me any problems.

well FlyBE in the interview said no more than 2 different FTO. So you could do your IR and ME somewhere different or CPL and IR different

Proposals on the horizon will shortly ensure all wannabee's are training with max 2 FTO's only. The days off travelling to differing FTO's around the globe gaining professional licence qualifications will cease.

Am i right in understanding that, when it says 2 FTO's, it means i can complete my atpl writtens with the school im at now and i could then go to 2 different schools during ME, CPL, IR and MCC, for example ME in florida and the rest at a different UK school.

I currently have an IR student who was worried about how many flight training providers he could use, so he wrote to Flybe to clarify the situation. The reply was something along the lines of if you start your CPL training at one school then it should be finished at that school. If you start your IR at another school (as he has done) then it should be finished at that other school.
There are no restrictions on where the groundshool takes place although most modular FTO's will recommend one.

As an employer shouldn't I be allowed to decide where my employee's training is undertaken?

As a payinf customer (Student) shouldn't I be allowed to decide which instructor/school combination provides me with the best value for my hard earned pound/euro?

If they're worried about standards of training ('The Finished Pilot') then they'd be better off looking at some of the FTO's who can provide that training?

Just curious...not trying to start a war or anything?

Yes, I quite agree. I have no idea how they would regulate it.

It was in some recent EASA bumff that I have kicking around.

Whether its continuity of training or perhaps ease of of audit trails....who knows. Im sure all will be revealed in due course...or perhaps not as the case may transpire.
