Bahrein Stop over

Next week I have some 7 hours between flights with Gulf Air in Bahrein. I would like to make something usefull with my time there. Is there a tour to go to see anything of interest or a site to visite whithin (sp?) for Bahrein Airport?

I am arriving in BAH around 2:30 PM.

Suggest you contact the BAH Government tourist office; they can probably organize a car and driver for you. Second suggestion is to visit the Emir's Beach if you get in early enough. Enjoy; it's a good place.

marcopolosnap - the sheikhs beach (I think you are referring too) is no more, much like the little guy himself. Sheikh Isa died back in March 1999 and when his son took the reins this 'benefit' to expats was not continued, about the best beach within easy reach of the airport would be at the Ritz Carlton.

Alvin- Thanks for the correction and the update. I was last there shortly before he died and haven't heard about the beach closing. It's a real shame that that perk is no longer available.
