Hi Folks,
Just getting some hints about the possibility of RVSM being introduced in the Nigerian Airspace.:D. Could anyone shed some light on this topic.

Nijasea, there was some publicity last week that RVSM has already been adopted in Nigeria...not sure though.

However...

People flying in the country should be able to tell more.

I've heard the same actually for the whole of africa, but as for it's implementation that's a subject of controversy there was even a thread on it not so long ago.We still can't manage the existing system how about RVSM?Well the folks at the towers haven't yet been trained for that except the guys in SA i've heard who are fully ready to switch.Let's wait and see

A few days ago an Arik 737 asked for level 270 out of Kano and the tower said that that he has the letter confirming that the aircraft registration has been approved for RVSM, then the pilot requested level 410.

I guess that RVSM has come into play in Nigeria.
