hi all

i am led to believe that Jet2 has a specially modified 737 that only seats 33 pax in business class seats. i understand that it operates primerily from STN doing charters for an exclusive cruise company.

2 questions.........

1. what does this aircraft do the rest of the time (well, you can hardly put it on a normal route as a substitute aircraft)

2. anyone got any pics of this plane (inside n out)

regards

Can confirm it's a Jet 2 aircraft, it'll be one of the QC aircraft.

G CELP.... it's a QC 733 with a 124 seat config.

Based in STN and operates regular night mail flights and many various charters incl Hebridean Cruises and repat flights for the Home Office.

Titan have modified a QC to a 44 seat lay out, it flys for the Royal Mail at night and is available for charter by day and over the weekend with the limitation that it has to be back in time. The RM flying is time critical with penalties for late arrival on the ramp in FRT config, and for late departure 4 minutes or more is late.

I'm not sure which of the Titan machines it is that can be configured but I'm sure that photographs are available on the Titan website, we (Jet2.com) do not have a machine that can go to this configuration, G-CELP seats 124, but can reduce this number by seting the seats on the left side to 2 wide seats.

G-CELP (pride of the fleet) is a very well-used, comfortable and flexible aircraft. It is a QC that can be configured with either 124 all-economy seats (3+3) or 78 business (3+2) plus 30 economy with galleys fore and aft.
It changes every night into a freighter for the Royal Mail and also for the Jersey Newspaper flights at weekends.

This aircraft CELP also operates twice weekly STN/LDE/STN
Mondays and Fridays, on behalf of Tangney Tours. but in 123 seat config.
with 123 seats it makes the entrance that much wider for the less able.
Cant see Ryanair doing that.

HX Dave, I can supply you with piccies of the inside of the pride of the south coast...G-CELP...grey leather recaro seats...full galleys front and back..3 toilets...wardrobe to hang your coats in...silver service...champagne...tea, coffee sir....I could wax lyrical......proper flying geezer....and the Flight deck and Cabin crew are the best in this industry.......

If you are after a " private vip charter" like Hebridean Cruises, Man Utd , Spurs, Arsenal, Tangney Tours , Ski Esprit , Audi , City of London Financers etc etc...it beats flying the lo cost way with the pigeon fanciers to Shagaluf anyday:ok:
