Many usually northerly NAT flights routing over GAPLI [off Lands End] today, in fact, most of them.
Any reason for this? Even AAL 55 MAN-ORD came down to BHD.:confused:

Might be one for a meterologist.....

It is a beautiful day here in London, the weather and vis are stunning, a little odd for late September(!)

Simple - look at the high alt wind charts - I used avbrief - and anything north of 50N has a probably 90kt head wind component - fly south of said parallel and you probably have a zero wind component - no contest, go south young man. Fly the rumb line not the great circle!
