View Full Version : The best way to sell an aircraft share

I am looking for some advice on the best way to sell my share in C172 which is based at Blackbushe. I have had a notice up in the clubhouse for sometime and yet have had very little response. I have also tried some of the free online spaces such as UKGA and The hangar, equally with little response.

I am currently reluctant to pay for an advert in a magazine as there are three or four possibles and no real guarantee of success, plus do prospective buyers search in print or online?

The aircraft is in reasonable condition and has just had a new engine, plus it is cheap and simple so is an ideal first group share, but any help in how to spread the word would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Goright

You may want to try Planecheck at www.planecheck.com (http://www.planecheck.com)

try putting a notice up in some of the other local airfields / club houses.
Put a notice in the window when you park her up anywhere
Do GA Europe/Loop charge for ads too ?
Anyway PM some details as I have a buddy who lives in Croydon and who might be willing to trek there.

Flyer has a forum for this :- Aviation Forums for pilots - from FLYER Magazine (http://forums.flyer.co.uk/viewforum.php?f=3&sid=58c93d80c29bbfe33daa7fa5272c5e04)
worth a try as it is free, though I have had my Falconar share at Goodwood there for some time with few bites for what should be a good deal:mad:

Indeed...but then I'd heard from a mate who drove past the 'bushe recently that there was a 172 down there with terminal spar weevil, cam-shaft badger spalling and dreadful tailwheel rot....must have been a different 172. Probably. Owner was a monumentally tight git though.

I've been in 3 groups to date... 2 I found in Pilot Magazine, 1 by personal invitation.

I've sold all by personal contact.

Having trouble in buying into anything new at the moment, I've travelled around the localish airfilelds and put notices up... not much going up here in South Lincs/Rutland, can't comment about "down sarf "
