I'm going to Madrid for a few days, just wondered if it is possible to buy alcohol and cigarettes at the duty free shop when I come back. I know that the price will be the regular domestic price rather than proper duty-free, but it's a lot easier to buy in one go rather than traipse everything around. Many airports have dual pricing depending on destination, but the MAD web doesn't indicate.
All info gratefully received.

PS Mrs chippy is going to AMS in November, same info on Schipol would be appreciated, as well!

Aldeasa, the Spanish airports' duty free operation, has numerous outlets at T4 selling cigarettes, alcohol and lots more besides (fancy some jamon serrano or Museo del Prado gifts?!).

Thanks, 62K, one of the key objectives of the trip is a good go of the Prado and, whilst there, to stock up ready for christmas. Jamon serrano and chorizo are also targetted, but i will probably get those at the Corte Ingles food market. Their house spanish brandy is also excellent value.
Muchas gracias!

As per 62K - pleasant environment in T4 (& T4S if you're with BA) - should be operating dual pricing for EU/non EU pax on a number of key items.

Same deal at Schiphol though loads more stores.

In my experience (I'm a supplier to both) Madrid is likely to be cheaper.

Good job cos you'd only get a confusing answer as I'm SLF and it bears no reference to the airline industry.

No answer to that!

I've just been through Madrid a couple of times recently - if you are using T4S (eg with BA) you'll need to allow an extra 30-40 minutes transfer time compared with T4 to make sure you have enough time for your shopping.

They are both good terminals with nice shopping - you can shop in T4 before moving on to T4S.

Have fun in Madrid :)
