Four dead in Kimberley chopper crash

Three young women and a pilot perished when a tourist helicopter crashed in the Bungle Bungle National Park this afternoon.

Inspector Paul Zegir from the WA Police Operations Centre said the crash occurred about 1pm today, just outside the town of Argyle.

Inspector Zegir said the helicopter had been operated by the Heliworks joyflight company.

It is understood the three women, aged 19, 20, and 20 were from Western Australia.

The pilot was 40 years of age.

Police have arrived at the scene and cordoned off the crash site.

The WA Department of Environment and Conservation is on its way to fight a bushfire that started when the helicopter exploded.

Inspector Zegir said the fire was not a threat to campers in the area "at this stage".

We all hope that it never happens to us, but here it is. The pilot was one of the nicest and most polite people you would ever meet. Struggled through hardship to get to do what he always wanted to do. Leaves behind a partner with an unborn child. The world is poorer......

One of the headings in this stream suggests that the aircraft involved was a Jetranger, but the ABC says it was a Robinson R44 Investigators on way to fatal chopper site - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) (http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/09/15/2364533.htm?section=justin)
Any clarification?

OK, so I wait two days and no response :bored:. Was it something I said? Wrong deodorant??
In the mean time I have found out it WAS an R44.

Thanks anyway.:(
