Are Royal flights within UK airspace notified by NOTAM?

Not as Royal Flight Notam - read all about it in the AIP, ENR 1-1-4-7

Yes, but for obvious reason they don't tell you the purpose of the notam. They simply tell you the piece of airspace that's restricted.

The only reason I ask is because when visiting a new airfield, I noticed they had royal flight information (looked like it had come out of a telex) pinned up on the notice board as well as the NOTAMS. It made me wonder if the NOTAMs contained sufficient info on Royal flights for self briefing.

The NOTAM gives the times and dimensions of the class A airspace that this class of flight attracts. If you want more than that you are just plain greedy ;)

What's the point? No one reads them do they?

Are am I to assume the 3 aircraft that flew through our NOTAM'd airshow this weekend just did it on purpose?

I did however manage to photograph the offenders and get the registrations.......
