If I plan to be at 30W at 0820Z can I still file for an eastbound track?

Regards Fly-Dad

Whilst Henry is correct, you can however file for a random route after the tracks expire.

On saying this, you should expect a re-route or change in flight levels from that filed.

All the questions that you have asked (including your FMS time questions in another post) are covered in FlightSafety's International Procedures initial and recurrent training, with a very good manual for reference provided also!

I hope that this helps.

(P.S are you arranging for your own clearance's or using a third party such as Universal Wx or Jepp?)

Thanks for the info. I found this chart in the Canada AIP (RAC - 11.0 NORTH ATLANTIC OPERATIONS (http://www.tc.gc.ca/CivilAviation/publications/tp14371/RAC/11-1.htm#11-11)) which cleared everything up for me. Particularly in the "Notes" section below.

We use GDC for our planning/filing.

Again, thanks for the insight.

Wesbound NAT OTS validity time is actually 1130Z to 1900Z at 30W

Absolutely correct....I guess Transport Canada needs to update their website.
