Hi oicur12!

The roster is 5 earlies, 2 off, 5 lates, 4 off etc.. great for planning ahead, but a fair bit of overnight flights sometimes back to back, can get tiring.

basic 8000 SGD, flight pay 113 SGD/h, 1000 hours a year...average tax about 15%. You get discount travel on the network, but no other perks!

You need to take singapore air law exam, they accept most licences for conversion. can take up to 2 month.

A few singapore based guys (cap & F/O s) have converted their licence and went to work for tiger OZ.

Standards are good, European (low cost) culture.

Hope it helps...

Last post sums it up. No longer there but was sad to leave. Good people and a great place to work. Annual leave is 25 days, so you can take 5 blocks of 10 days, actually a bit more. The best part was knowing when your days off where a year in advance. Company is small enough that you can works things out with the company. Good luck

That actually seems like a pretty good deal money-wise. Base of $96000SGD per year plus allowances. $113 x 1000 hours per year is $113,000SGD. Around 200K SGD...really?

On 200 K you don't pay more than 11 % tax. Less if you have a wife and children.

Good luck!

You would be Flying A320s for a LCC in Singapore. This isn't Cathay or Emirates. What do you expect.

Auto...taking into account the cost of living here in Sing, you should have added "is that all?" at the end of your statement.

Fair enough, didn't realise cost of living was that high in SIN. Cost of living here in Oz not that cheap these days and don't think Jetstar packages are huge, by comparison. Think $90-100k for FO and $150k AUD for Captain. Could be wrong...if so, someone correct me. AUD and SGD not that far apart currency value wise.

So how much is the cost of living in Singapore then? Also what's the salary like for FO's and also what's the rough time to command? Sorry I know it's lots of questions but there's not a lot of info out there.

Cost of living in Singapore can vary greatly depending on the way you choose to live. Rental costs for a condo on the east coast of Singapore ( between the city and the airport) around 1500 to 1800 sq ft expect to pay around $4000 pm. For a smaller HDB apartment the cost is much lower.

For the type of flying Tiger crew will do, you would be best advised to stay on the east coast and near proximity to the airport.

Use public transport and taxis and getting around in Singapore is not that expensive, but buy a car and your costs increase dramatically.

This web site may provide some useful info including property rental info Singapore Expats - Expat relocation, Singapore housing rental, working & staying in Singapore. Singapore property rental, Singapore apartment for rent, Singapore condo for rent, Singapore house for rent (http://www.singaporeexpats.com/)

Hope this helps
