Hi all,

I am fairly new to all this, but I am just doing my JAR PPL at the moment.

When I was in Australia I flew as a passenger with Air Fraser, (beach landings) that sort of thing, all the pilots were young lads, they flew us across in Cessna airvans 8 seaters. What qualification would they have or would I need to do this as I spend a bit of time in Aus. I am just thinking along the lines of working for a company doing pleasure flights, or maybe doing para drops in Aus / NZ that sort of thing??

If I need a CPL I take it I would need the ground school too?

Cheers

Mark

You would indeed need to do that. Take a browse of CAA's LASORS, and the sticky threads at the top of the forum, and you should find all the details of the requirements you would need.

Cessna airvans 8 seaters.

They're not Cessnas. They're Australian made aircraft with a funny name and yes you definitely would need a CPL and all the exams. You can't get paid otherwise. I'm pretty sure you would need an Aussie licence too, not to mention a work permit.

You can do para drops in Britain on a PPL but you still won't be paid.

Isn't competition for these jobs quite stiff also?

Still it would be a fantastic way to spend a few years flying:p
