Hi, hopefully someone has the inside track on what is actually planned for Bkk on Wednesday 3rd Sept. Rumours have it that 15000 Thai Airways staff at Bangkok are to take a one day strike action in support of the PAB.

Anyone know any more??

No one knows anything. TG, AoT, and AeroThai governors say no changes. Union leaders say strike for sure. Transport ministry says security beefed up at all airports, especially BKK. Protestors take over Surat Thani airport.

If you're a TG SLF, you might want to move to a code-share partner operated flight. If you're crew, you might wanna look up things to do at your alternate.

No problem life is nearly normal in Thailand. Few politicians are struggling to get the main part of the cake... But most of people are looking this from 50,000 ft at least. Coool. Relax and welcome in this beautiful country

"US businesses in Thailand are operating as usual and are experiencing no disruption to power, electricity or labor supply, according to the American Chamber of Commerce in Thailand (AMCHAM).

In the statement issued on Thursday, the chamber said that the protests in Thailand are limited to a small area of Bangkok and are having little to no effect on the daily lives of the majority of those living or traveling in Bangkok.
Areas outside of Bangkok are, in general, free of protests and are open for travel.
"Businesses, investors, and visitors to Thailand can be reassured that the current political unrest in Thailand should not adversely affect their activities. Thailand remains a compelling primary tourist destination, has a vibrant economy and continues to offer attractive opportunities for foreign investors," remarks AMCHAM President Thomas J. White."
