Hello all,

I am an expat capt waiting to hear from Air Deccan about contract employment. I submitted my docs about 3 weeks ago for approval from DGCA. does anyone have information on how long it normally takes to hear from the company or DGCA. also any other feedback regarding the company and overall satisfacction or dissatisfaction with the work environment would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

From 1 to 6 months, don't hold your breath for that.
Conditions and etc highly sensitive to this unstable scenario.
Don't expect too much.
Sorry for not giving the best news. You'd be lucky in getting the job.

deccan/ kinkfisher postphoned the dilivery of airbus 2010 onwards, this can be the reason of delay for you.
DGCA permit to fly on foreign licence, is issued when there is shortage or no skilled pilots available.
this perhaps is the reason .
spice jet telling expats not to come back from leave could be bcz of crew permit renewal problems,as the pilots in spice jet are do 75 hrs now against 100+ before in a month,so they have too many pilots for few a/cs. and as and when contract finishes the permit vanishes.
