Hi all,

I'm thinking about heading down to the Solent to watch the Schneider Trophy race this coming Sunday.

I don't particularly want to cross over to the island and I haven't been able to find a map of the course online but I understand that one of the turns will be at Gilkicker Point at Gosport.

Does anybody know if it is a good vantage point?

Cheers

It's superb. Last time I used that was for the Fleet Review. Good spot, leave time to walk from the car. Another equally good position will be along the seafront at Southsea. The roads may well be congested, so leave plenty of time for travel and parking.

Many thanks Rainboe, Gilkicker it is then!

I should imagine that parking close to the front in Portsmouth or Southsea could be problematic as well if it's a nice day (fingers crossed).

Now I must select a nice pub to stop at on the way back!

Cheers
