Please don't bereate me if this is the wrong forum. I have just witnessed from my house at approx 1730 hrs the most amazing solo Spitfire display!!
From my study I began to hear the rumble of an aircraft engine, thought "that sounds like a Merlin!", rushed outside and was treated to a magnificant 5 minute display, finished off with a victory roll.
Although in this part of Surrey we do get quite a bit of helicopter traffic, including a number of 'wokkas', I have never seen a Spit this near my house (the nearest they get is Farnborough a few miles away).
Would anyone happen to know why we were treated to this wonderful spectacle? All I can think is that we are near the well-known Pennyhill Park hotel which does have celebrity guests sometimes.
And to the pilot (whoever you may be), thanks for making today very special.
