If I understand it right, all the pay figures on their web site are BEFORE they take China taxes out. And the tax rates go up as high as 45% depending on pay. So if you make $100,000 USD (annual) and they take out 35% China Taxes, you really take home $65,000.

Am I reading it right?

absolutely correct...........you pay tax on everything and need an invoice for everything :)

According to the terms just emailed to me yesterday, Jade is responsible for Chinese taxes, F/O pay is $9000/mo + housing allowance

not true- look for the "download" link at the bottom of the HTML page and save the adobe* page with employment-info (you can magnify and re-read)

35 does not mean you get 100-35=65.
The bracket is just to put you somewhere on a scale. After you make all kind of deductions and exemptions the net tax % might be quite different.
Where I live and pay my taxes Im on the 31 tax bracket but at the end of the day I end up paying around 12%. That is the way in most places, check it out. You will see the big difference when you get the info right.
