Hi,

Anyone know what 744 & 777 configs BA usually have on the Sydney runs?

I'm travelling in Sep/Oct & trying to choose a seat.

Thanks

Globaliser is not quite correct.

Looking at the next week:
1. the BA15 (B777) is configured with 220 seats (13F/48J/32W/127Y)
2. the BA11 (B747-400) varies between hi and mid J, and can be either 14F/70J/30W/177 or 185Y or 14F/52J/26W/235Y

Apologies. IIRC, it used to be rather dependable. I will have to scrub some of the notes I'd made for myself about configurations!

just to confirm the BA11 on the B744 stops at SIN and doesn't go to SYD, the BA15 goes on to SYD

The B744 flight to SYD is the BA9 via BKK...I was on it 2 weeks ago....and it was packed out, but it's been the pax config with traveller plus ahead of club on the main deck for a year or so....

Thanks chaps/ettes...

Reason I ask is that I'm on the 009 on 29 Sep and then the 016 on 10 Sep, WT+ so trying to figure out a seat pref.

I'd rather be on a 744 both ways but apparently they could only fit me on the Tripler on the way back.

Thanks

If you're flying WTP then you have a few options.

On some of the 744's, they have the front of the cabin on an emergency exit row. Where this is the case. the outward sides have single seats next to the exits. If you're travelling on your own, choose this seat. Or the seat behind next to the window - you get a bit more legroom and an easy way out!

Otherwise I'd say go for the bulkhead row at the front of WTP. Yes there may be families, however best legroom in class.

(If you find you're on a high-J aircraft, I agree that's the one to go for as a single traveller. But if you don't have access to pre-allocation, you're unlikely to be able to get this as unsurprisingly they're usually about the first to go to those who can get pre-allocated seats.)

On the mid-J, I would personally suggest the left hand side. The bulkhead is 12, but I personally don't like bulkhead seats in WT+ (because the footrest is in your own legrest rather than folding down from the seat in front) and usually try for 13 - failing that, 14. But for the fact that it's just in front of the loo, 15A would have become my favourite seat. The left hand side of the aircraft usually gets served first. Avoid 11JK and 16JK as these are noisy.

I don't do much time on the 777s, so sorry haven't got any real preferences to suggest.
