View Full Version : Win2000Pro - On line or not?

Only my second day with new computer and Win2000 for the first time.

Puzzled that when on line there is no little icon in the tray to tell me, (two little screen flashing etc.). Appreciate that this OS may be more attuned to a network but even then it would be nice to know?

Have I missed something in configuration and/or settings please?

This might sort it.

Start/Settings/Network and Dial-Up Connections

Select the Dial-Up you are using and right click.

Click on Properties

There should be a little box at the bottom of the properties page for you to put a tick in to "Show Icon on Taskbar when Connected"

I have never consciously put the tick in this box. It appears there by default in all my Dial-Ups when I create them. Don't know why the icon wouldn't appear automatically.

Enjoy your new Box and Win2K.
