I'm going to be based at MXP from this October with easyJet. I'd be grateful for any information on suitable areas to live, approximate commuting times etc.

How long would it take to commute from Varese, for example, or how much it would cost to rent an apartment there?

Any information would be much appreciated.

it depends on what you are looking for, from varese, by car it takes something like 30/40 minutes, with public transportation.....two days... if you are looking for something near i think Gallarate is a quite good solution, 15 minutes from the airport, there is a bus from the train station (i think nearly one each hour) and is a city, a small city but a city and you are 40 minutes from Milan if you are looking for nightlife.
